Launch in Progress...

Prerequisites:

  1. Must have an account on Zapier.
  2. Email which will be used for integration has to be associated with Interviewer.AI. Since it will be used for authentication.

Terminology: https://zapier.com/help/create/basics/learn-key-concepts-in-zapier

User flow:

Now lets begin with generating api keys for zapier integration. This API key will be used on the zapier website while setting up integration for authentication purposes.

  • Then Click on "Open Editor" under "Create a custom Zap".
  • You can give a name to your Zap so that you can identify it later.
  • Search for Interviewer.AI in the search bar and select the option.
  • Now Choose an event you want to set trigger for. For this example we will go with the “Create Job" option.
  • Since you are setting this for the first time, it is important to authenticate your identity. So go ahead and click on sign in to Interviewer.AI and you will be redirected to the authentication page.
  • Enter the API key that we generated in step one and provide your Email.
  • After successful authentication the current tab will should get closed and return to the previous tab.
  • If your authentication process is successful, you should be able to see your account in the dropdown;
  • Click “Continue”;
  • Click “Test trigger"
  • On a successful trigger test, you should see a success message and some dummy data.
  • Next step is to create Actions;
  • If you are unable to see the panel for actions then go ahead and click the small (+) icon and you should see that panel. You can create multiple actions per trigger you just need to click (+) icon and choose another action service like google sheet etc.;
  • You can specify what should happen if the trigger that we have set gets triggered. In our example, we have specified what should happen if a user creates a new job in the Interviewer.AI dashboard;
  • You can create as many actions as you need one after the other. For this example we will use slack;
  • Now we are about to tell Zapier that "We want a Direct Slack message when new job is created";
  • So go ahead and search for Slack in action panel;
  • Select an action event as "Send Direct Message" and hit “Continue”;
  • Since you are integrating this for the first time you need to authenticate your Slack here;
  • Please go ahead and authenticate your Slack account;
  • After successful authentication you should be able to see your Slack account listed;
  • Now fill all the required fields;
  • In our case, we would like to send the username and message. Once we click on a message, a dropdown pops up which holds labels for all dynamic values which will be then passed automatically;
  • Now lets format our message in a nice way;
  • You can send any static text you want;
  • Now click on "Test & Continue”;
  • After you clicked “Test & Continue", you should receive one dummy slack message from Zapier;
  • Now click on "Turn on Zap". This should be turn on in order to keep the trigger active.

🎉 Now you have successfully integrated your first zap with Interviewer.AI 🎉

  • Now try creating a job on the dashboard, you should get a slack message from Zapier;
  • Likewise you can set up the rest of the triggers;
  • Now incase, you don't want this trigger to be triggered visit https://zapier.com/app/zaps
  • You will see all your zaps here. Now turn off the zap and this trigger will stop from being executed.

Happy Zapping with Interviewer.AI 🎉
